Antonio Marin Montero was born in 1933. In 1959 he entered Eduardo Ferrer's workshop. This guitar was built in 1968; at the time his workshop was located at 7 Mariana Piñeda in Granada and he signed his name as « Antonio Marin ». This was also the time when he helped his friend Manuel de la Chica (1911-1998) who had fallen ill (and would have to stop working in 1973).
This guitar offers deep basses as well as clear and expressive trebles. It's a superb piece of craftsmanship. There’s no doubt that Marín's passion for exquisite craftsmanship played a key role in his collaboration with Robert Bouchet in the early 1970s. This instrument’s sound qualities as well as its historical value should warrant a much higher price.
