Felipe Conde Cavia was born in Madrid in 1957, the third generation of the Esteso-Conde guitar-building dynasty. His father, Mariano Conde Sr. was Domingo Esteso's nephew. In 1971, he began his apprenticeship at the Gravina 7 workshop, under the guidance of his father and uncle Faustino. A year later, his brother Mariano joined the workshop as an apprentice. In 1980, his father Mariano Conde opened a new workshop on Calle Felipe V with his two sons. His sons took over the workshop after their father's death in 1989, continuing the family tradition.
This beautiful guitar is a replica of the Domingo Esteso model, built in the tradition of their great uncle's instruments. It has the deep, warm, woody timbre of the old instruments. The notes are dense, vibrant and rich in harmonics. A beautiful instrument in which Felipe Conde shows both his talent and his loyalty to this legacy.
