Dimitris Piperidis was born in Athens in 1973 into a family of traditional woodworkers; early on, he developed a passion for lutherie. He trained with the famous Greek guitar maker Pavlos Gypas, and afterwards became his assistant — which enabled him to quickly acquire a great deal of experience. He was also lucky enough to receive guidance from Dominique Field who helped him find his own identity and personal approach in accordance with French tradition Dimitris Piperidis now has his own workshop in Athens.
