Rafael Galán was born in Málaga in 1888. Together with his brother Juan, he was trained by the Málaga luthier Antonio de Lorca Piño. In 1906 the two brothers moved to Buenos Aires. Rafael Galan began building his own guitars in 1908.
This is a beautiful guitar built in 1924. The aesthetics are superb, and the sound qualities equal the beauty. The basses are deep, the trebles soft, mellow, vibrant and expressive. The timbre, deep and woody, has the charm and lyricism of the finest instruments of the period.
