Hakusui Imai was born in 1950. He is the brother of Yuichi Imai, both were trained by Nakade and belong to the great names of Japanese guitar making. Hakusui Imai opened his own workshop where he or she built alone about twenty guitars per year to remain mainly in Japan. He died in 1997 at the age of 47. His most beautiful models were considered equal to Kohno's guitars. The guitar we present here, acquired in Japan, has remained in very good condition.
The workmanship is excellent. The woods and tuners are of the best choice. The headstock is of Hernandez y Aguado inspiration with a well made needle carving in the center. The bracing is 7 strands. The sound is deep, the trebles are clear and vibrant, the tone is soft and lyrical. A beautiful guitar to be discovered.
