Ignacio Fleta (1897-1977) is one of the great names in 20th-century guitar making. With his two brothers, he first trained as a lutherie for quartet instruments. He began his career building violins and cellos. At the end of the '30s, he turned to the classical guitar. The first highlight of his career came in 1957, when Andrés Segovia ordered the first of many Fletas he would later play. The most renowned guitarists have played on his guitars.
This superb instrument, built in 1963, is still in perfect condition. The sound qualities are exceptional, with elegant, refined musicality of great beauty. The bass is deep, vibrant and majestic. The notes are expressive, singing and colorful: all the qualities for which this exceptional luthier is renowned.
