Kolya Panhuyzen was born in Berlin in 1941. He built his first guitar in 1967 in the workshop of his uncle Edgar Mönch. In 1974 he set up his own workshop in Toronto, and in 1992 opened a second one in Germany. The perfectly crafted lutherie work and immaculate aesthetics are exactly what can be expected from a luthier of Panhuyzen’s international reputation and experience.
This instrument combines a strong presence and sound projection with a great richness of timbre. It has spontaneous response, and clear, flexible and expressive notes. Its power and reactivity make it easy and pleasant to play, and so does its raised fingerboard allowing access to the top of the neck.
This is a beautiful and very high-quality concert guitar .
