Born in 1931, Marcelino López Nieto is a cabinetmaker by training. His guitar lessons with Daniel Fortea attracted him to guitar making. In 1949, at the age of 18, he opened his first guitar workshop in Madrid. He trained in guitar making in the workshop of Hernandez y Aguado, for whom he would later work. His exceptional career makes him one of the most illustrious Spanish luthiers.
This instrument was built in 1961. The notes are clear and singing, with a soft and lyrical timbre characteristic of a luthier who remained faithful to the origins of the Madrid school.
