The Gropp name has an important and special place in the world of German lutherie. Mario Gropp learned guitar making at an early age from his father Armin, and they have been working together for over 35 years. Their work follows in the tradition of Richard Jacob Weissgerber, it has always been of the highest quality, both in terms of craftsmanship and sound. This high level of quality has earned them respect in the lutherie world.
The guitar presented here remains faithful to this rule. The meticulous attention to detail is evident in every detail. Soundwise, it's a powerful, homogeneous instrument. Notes are dense and rich in harmonics. The timbre is deep, woody and expressive. Its lyrical musicality, low setting and reactive response make it endearing and pleasant to play. A beautiful concert guitar, easy and pleasant to play, built by one of the great names in German lutherie.
