Mark Peirelinck is a Belgian luthier trained at the London College of Furniture in the modern fretted instrument department. Following this training, he set up his first workshop in 1987 in a small village in northern Belgium. He then spent several years taking part in José Romanillos' workshops. From 2000 to 2010, he taught at the Centre de Construction d'Instruments de Musique in Puurs, Belgium. Today, his workshop is based in La Roche-en-Brenil, Burgundy.
The guitar presented here was built in 2021. Aesthetically sober, the finely crafted work demonstrates the know-how of this luthier. The sound is strong and homogeneous. Notes are clear, dense and rich in harmonics. The timbre is expressive and woody. The thin neck, light weight, low tuning and responsiveness make this instrument easy and pleasant to play. A beautiful instrument to discover for those unfamiliar with this maker's work.
