Ortiz, a family of Andalusian luthiers dating back to the late 19th century. At the time of the Spanish Civil War, Francisco Ortiz Garcia went into exile in Argentina, where he continued to build guitars with his three sons Francisco, Antonio and José. This guitar was built in 1962 in Mendoza during this period. They later moved back to Seville.
The finish is very well done. Notes are clear and mellow. The timbre is woody and expressive. The light weight and thin neck make this instrument pleasant to play.
