Ortiz, a family of Andalusian guitar makers goes back to the end of the 19th century. At the time of the Spanish war Francisco Ortiz Garcia went into exile in Argentina, where he continued to build guitars with his three sons Francisco, Antonio and José. This guitar was built in 1963 in Buenos Aires during this period. Afterwards they came back to Seville.
The lutherie and the finishes are of beautiful workmanship. The sound is well balanced, precise, the notes are clear with a beautiful expressivity. Lightweight, a fine neck and a fast response make this instrument easy and pleasant to play, an excellent value for its price.
