The guitar maker Zoran Kuvač has been based in the small town of Banja Luka, Bosnia-Herzegovina, since 1998. Zoran has always been fascinated by the sound of the classical guitar. He learned to play the instrument as a child, and since then has wanted to create his own guitars. Zoran Kuvač was trained by one of tamburica's finest luthiers, Duško Rajković. He has built almost 300 instruments to date. Initially, his work was inspired by Spanish masters such as Torres and Romanillos (he took part in Romanillos' courses). Later, his work turned to the contemporary French school, particularly Daniel Friederich and Dominique Field. Renowned guitarists including Edin Karamzov and Zoran Dukič have played on his guitars.
This guitar was built in 2010. The luthier's expertise is evident in the excellent craftsmanship. The woods used are of the highest quality. Sonically, it's a powerful, responsive and homogeneous instrument. Notes are clear, flexible and richly harmonic. The timbre is warm and expressive. The polyphonic discourse is clear and precise, offering a wide sound palette. A fine concert guitar to try out and discover the work of this luthier.
